[twocol_one] Focussed Ultrasound – The Fundamentals

The workshop will be divided into 4 x 20 minute learning stations that the attendees will rotate to.  The stations will comprise:

  1. EFAST
  2. AAA
  3. Basic echo in life support, BELS
  4. Procedures/vascular access

Attendees will be split into 4 groups of 4 people, dependent upon self-reported experience level.

Limited pre reading/web links will be supplied before the course.  Candidates are encouraged not to be limited to this list. Use the opportunity of this lab to focus on motor skills or to clarify knowledge at this practical session

Learning outcomes:

“Basic”- hands on feel of imaging planes and to achieve recognition of anatomy.

“regular” – a review of your skills and refine technique.

“advanced” let the instructors push your skills to a higher level.

Target audience: All health professionals who wish to achieve a greater understanding of ultrasound or to refine their skills.  The groups will be approximately divided into “novice”, “regular” or “advanced” depending on the skill mix of the attendees.
