Natalie May graduated from the University of Manchester in 2005 and trained in the UK in Emergency Medicine with Paediatric Emergency Medicine. She worked as a consultant (specialist) in both Manchester and Oxford until 2016 when she moved to Australia. She is a FACEM working as a Staff Specialist in Prehospital and Retrieval Medicine for Sydney HEMS. She also works in the Emergency Department in some of Sydney’s hospitals and has a casual contract with NETS (Neonatal and paediatric Emergency Transport Service).

Natalie’s main non-clinical interest is medical education: she has been an editorial board member and contributor to the St Emlyn’s blog and podcast since 2012. 

She is a member of the SMACC organising committee and part of the international faculty of the Teaching Cooperative ( She has spoken internationally on topics from medical education to paediatric trauma.

She lives with her husband in Sydney, is obsessed with running, drinks a lot of tea and loves karaoke.
